BIOGRAPHY
Amaya De Yavorsky is a French-Venezuelan documentary photographer, researcher, and designer based in Barcelona.
Through photography and field research, her work explores the relationships between people, materials, and place. Interested in craft, culture, and everyday life, she approaches each project as an opportunity to understand how practices are shaped by history, environment, and lived experience.
Working mainly with analogue film, she uses photography as a way of observing, learning, and building relationships over time. Alongside photography, she works with writing, publishing, and design to bring together the stories and research that emerge through her practice.
Her current work focuses on traditional mud dye and textile practices across different regions of the world.
